My Story

April Kelley, Health Coach and fitness instructor, smiling on the About page of April Kelley Health Coach.

My story is not unlike many other women who find themselves unhappy, overwhelmed, and feeling stuck. After my adult life was well underway, I was larger than I had ever been thanks to a more sedentary lifestyle and convenient food choices. I just didn't feel good, and I was having a hard time recognizing myself.

Sometime during 2014, I decided I was going to lose weight. There was just one problem: I had no idea how to actually be healthy. So I did what a lot of people do when they don't know where to start. I tried everything. Restricting calories. Popular diets. Hardcore exercise. Whatever I thought might finally be the thing that worked.

Some of it helped. But I was always frustrated. I couldn't understand why I couldn't make lasting progress. It took a lot of trial and error—and honestly, way too much time—for me to realize something important: My problem wasn't that I needed to try harder. I was missing the foundation.

I didn't have the basic habits, knowledge, or systems that would actually lead me to the healthy life I wanted. I was constantly trying to fix the end result without learning how to build the lifestyle that would create it. Once I understood that, everything started to change. I stopped looking for the next quick fix and started learning how to build sustainable habits.

I learned how small decisions, repeated consistently, could completely change the way I felt and lived. And eventually, I succeeded—not because I found the perfect diet or workout program, but because I finally learned how to create a healthy lifestyle I could actually maintain. That experience changed the direction of my life.

I became so passionate about what I'd learned that I wanted to help other people avoid the years of frustration I had experienced. In 2016, I became certified as a Health Coach through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and started my business, Revolution Lifestyle Management LLC.

Although health coaching was a side hustle at the time, I knew I was making an impact. Then, in January 2023, I took the leap of faith, left my career, and began working full-time as a Health Coach. Today, my mission is simple: help people stop starting over and learn how to actually build a healthy life.

That's why I created The Health Journey Roadmap™. Because I know what it's like to want to change but have absolutely no idea where to start. I know what it's like to try all the things, get overwhelmed, lose momentum, and wonder why you can't seem to make it stick.

Trust me on this one...you don't need another quick fix. You need a roadmap.
